Chemical action of isopropanol

1. Isopropanol is widely used as organic material and solvent. As a chemical raw material for the production of acetone, hydrogen peroxide, methyl isobutyl ketone, diisobutyl ketone, isopropylamine, isopropyl ether, isopropyl chloride, isopropyl fatty acid, isopropyl chloro fatty acid. In fine chemicals, it can be used in the production of medicine, pesticides, diisopropyl acetate, isopropyl acetate, thymol and gasoline additives.

2. It is a relatively cheap solvent in industry. It is widely used. It can be freely mixed with water. The solubility of lipophilic materials is stronger than that of ethanol. It can be used as solvents such as nitrocellulose, rubber, paint, shellac, alkaloid, etc. It can be used to produce paint, ink, extractant and aerosol. It can be used as antifreeze, detergent, mixed gasoline additive, pigment production dispersant, printing and dyeing fixing agent, glass, transparent plastic antifogging agent, etc.

3. Used for the determination of barium, calcium, copper, magnesium, nickel, potassium, sodium, strontium, nitrite, cobalt, etc.

4. In the electronic industry, it can be used as an oil cleaner. In the oil industry, cottonseed oil extractant can also be used to remove animal derived tissue membranes.

5. As a defoamer for oil well water-based fracturing fluid, air forms an explosive mixture, which will cause combustion and explosion in case of open fire and high heat, and can react strongly with oxidant.
