Product Application

Monopropylene Glycol in cosmetics is mainly used as a moisturizing agent, solvent and solubilizer in skin care products. Propylene glycol has two chemical structures, 1, 2-propanediol and 1, 3-propanediol.

1, 2-Propanediol is mainly prepared industrially by hydration of propylene oxide, or by hydrogenolysis of glycerol or bioengineering. It is a colorless, viscous and stable liquid with almost no odor. Mainly used in cosmetics, toothpaste and soap in combination with glycerin or sorbitol as a moisturizing agent, non-toxic.

1, 3-Propanediol is mainly prepared by acrolein hydrogenation and hydration in industry. It is a colorless, odorless, viscous liquid with salty taste and hygroscopicity under normal conditions, and it is almost non-toxic. It can also be used as a solvent and moisturizing agent in cosmetics.
